Proactiv Yet? Why Not Join the Unselfie Campaign?
The popularity of digital cameras and smart phones have given rise to the selfie phenomenon revealing how narcissistic we all can be given every opportunity. Nothing is beyond redemption. though. However, after extensive analysis by TIME, Makati City, a part of the Manila metropolitan area that’s generally known as the financial center of Manila, ended up on top, together with Pasig.
But then, it had been evident that not all are always picture-perfect. With this came various filters and photo editing apps for their “selfies” as they want to hide some imperfections, in the form of acne, pimple scars and the likes. A little photo shop here and there, and viola they can already post their perfect selfies. Don’t you think it’s kind of unfair or somehow fooling everyone who sees it including your friends. I don’t want to sound judgmental though.
With this to consider, Proactiv therefore, means to encourage netizens to address acne for real, and be proactive – thus the Unselfie campaign is born. Instead of posting an edited image, people are encouraged to post an unedited photo of themselves with an unselfie pledge placard:

It’s about time we should start a journey of self improvement to have clear skin and be confident in posting that selfie without any filters.
