Mother Earth had been suffering from global warming long enough due to our actions. Admit it or not, it’s a fact that humans are the reasons why our lonely planet is now suffering. Every soul still think that it’s not yet too late for a change and change will start from us. Our country had seen and suffered so much from the bad after-math of not taking care of the planet. Summer had been radically changing from the worst heat possible to a storm, while rainy seasons still bring more devastation through flash floods, storm surges, tidal waves and more catastrophes.
Many would ask so what do we do to change? Actually there had been efforts to relieve our Mother Nature’s sickness and more people are getting involved, including artists and musicians.
In lieu to this, our country have stepped up even further to bring awareness that we can do it, we can bring change into ourselves and eventually help alleviate more devastation, though we could not alter the global changes, we can so something to make our planet sustain all the changes it undergoes.
I’m happy to announce that EarthDay Jam is back, bigger in number, bigger in content awareness and bigger help can be expected. Also, expect more artist joining to fire up this year’s EarthDay Jam 2014 Concert, probably is undeniably the biggest and celebrity studded environmental summer street party event in the Philippines.
On its 14th year, the EarthDay Jam 2014 Concert street party, which includes this recyclables fair where people can donate their old gadgets within the 9th avenue corner 34th street venue at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC), will feature more celebrity bands, singers and rappers performing their hit songs for a rolling night of live music, campaigning for the preservation of Mother Earth and its resources.
“The EarthDay Jam 2014 has never been this aggressive with its national campaign, for Mother Earth’s protection, survival. It is a relentless campaign supported by concerned government and private sector agencies that aims not only to educate people about the state of health of planet earth, but get everyone to do their fair share in the global fight to save this planet for our children’s future, the next generation,” said EarthDay Jam Concert founding organizer Ms. Lou Bonnevie.
EarthDay Jam 2014 raised its national campaign, tapping more sectors to take part in concert’s overall national environmental campaign activities. “We have to bring more people to support this really worthy cause, and we want it to be done consistent with EarthDay Jam 2014’s long term pro-environmennt objectives”.
Music artists would take advantage of the EarthDay Jam gig, which Bonnevie adviced will begin early at 6pm, to showcase more brands, more music to the youth. “EarthDay Jam is a non-profit event. It is free, but gig is open to artists willing to share their time and music for one worthy environmental cause.”
This year’s band line up includes famed rappers Abra and Gloc 9 ; blues band Brat Pack; foremost reggae group Brownman Revival; rock band icons Slapshock ,Chicosi ,Sandwich, Kjwan and Mayonnaise ; pop rock artists Itchy Worms, Moonstar 88 ; folk guru Noel Cabangon ; representatives from PI JazzFest; and eco rock artist Ms. Lou Bonnevie.
