DepEd and PAGCOR Join Force

MOA Signing Between DepEd and PAGCOR
The Department of Education (DepEd) and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation had a Memorandum of Agreement to help address the acute deficiency of classrooms nationwide.   DepED will provide funds for the construction of 1,000 classrooms for 2011-2012 while PAGCOR shall allocate the total amount of P1,000,000,000.00 for the construction of 1,000 classrooms for 2011-2012.

During the hand-over of the check amounting  P 935 M, we saw how obviously DepEd Sec. Armin Luistro happy.   To be able to touch people to get in the act of sharing for the goodwill, where children will be benefiting,  is indeed pure  joy to be shared.

The signing of the MOA and the handing of the check happened at  a function room of the Heritage Hotel, Pasay City.    Now we can look forward to a more productive education projects as envisioned and is now put into action.

According to Bro. Armin, the classroom will all be ready by the class opening of 2012, where Gawad Kalinga will also benefit from this sponsorship by PAGCOR.   Among the present people are Bong  Nagiyat of PAGCOR, Under Sec. Francis Valera and others.
